1.0 CHAIN Children’s Home
The Children’s Home is continuing to look after vulnerable children with a population of 102 including 58 blind and visually impaired children. The Home has a separate workforce that include the administrator, dormitory mothers, dormitory fathers, chaplain, nurse, counselor, the cook plus other support staff who work in the garden and animal farm. The children are engaged in daily home activities with the aim of training them to be responsible citizens.

2.0 CHAIN Kindergarten
The kindergarten department has got 110 learners including 10 blind children from CHAIN Children’s home. Majority of the children come from vulnerable families in the villages around CHAIN . The school has got 5 teachers teaching three classes that include baby, middle and top classes plus one support staff who maintains general hygiene and sanitation of the school.

3.0 Martin Nkoyoyo Inclusive Primary School
The school second term started on the 2nd May, 2025 and ended on the 15th of August 2025. The school population is 420 learners with 15 teachers and 2 support staff who prepare meals. The primary seven candidates sat for National mock exams in the beginning of August and results will be released soon. Some of the blind children at Martin school also participated in national sports competitions games like goal ball, running, indoor games like table tennis etc. and performed well.

4.0 CHAIN Vocational School
The Vocational school started second term studies on 26th May and ended on the 15th of August 2025. The school population is 117 students (74 girls and 43 are boys). There are 6 courses, namely catering, hairdressing, welding, tailoring, building and construction and electrical installation, among others. Each course has got 2 tutors, one for theory and another one for practical. Other supplementary courses include music training, baking, farming and computer training.

5.0 Renovations
Routine repairs and maintenance have been happening. Periodical breakdown in the water system, damaged windows and doors that need glass fixing, repairing walkways etc. are all taking place. In some places inside CHAIN premises, new walk ways were constructed to easy the movement especially of the blind children to different locations.

6.0 CHAIN Students in Secondary // Higher Institutes of Learning
Many CHAIN children have left primary school and have joined secondary schools and higher institutions of learning.
CHAIN has got a number of children who have finished primary school and have now joined secondary schools and other high institutions of learning. Two visually impaired children joined Kyambogo University on Government sponsorship and one blind boy was enrolled at Nsamizi Institute for a diploma in social work. One girl graduated at YMCA with a diploma in catering and hotel management. Margaret one of CHAIN children graduated in June with a certificate in catering and hotel management from YMCA institute.

7.0 Creative Arts Class
CHAIN Vocational School is running a creative art class for the deaf and blind youth. This section trains them in different areas, such as making craft items like ear rings, necklace, crocheting, bead making, sign language and farming for instance poultry keeping, piggery, dairy farming, crop production etc. The aim is to give them survival skills that will give them a chance for independent living.

8.0 Young Mothers
The young mothers’ department has got 8 teenage girls with their babies including two pairs of twins. The girls are attending skills training at CHAIN vocational school while the two mentor mothers cater for the babies’ welfare during class time.

9.0 Community outreach
CHAIN also supports community children to receive education in schools near their homes. Majority of these children stay with their grandmothers. CHAIN social workers monitor their academic performance through conducting home and school visits for guidance and counseling.

10.0 Other Updates

Discipleship Program
CHAIN Foundation management organized a discipleship program for staff members with the aim of equipping members with leadership skills as well as pastoral-ship. The training began in September 2024 and staff members who completed the training were graduated at Vision for Africa. -
Sickbay
CHAIN children’s home has got a sick bay with a nurse who provides treatment to children. In the last few months’ children have reported cases such as flu, cough, skin infections, malaria, stomach pains among others. However, children with chronicle diseases like HIV+, epilepsy, dental issues that the nurse cannot handle effectively have been referred to Mukono hospital for further management. -
Devotions
CHAIN is Christian organization and children are nurtured to be God fearing. The organization chaplain leads daily evening devotions where children are encouraged to read the bible, share testimonies, do bible verse memorization, praise and worship, singing and dancing among others. Mothers and fathers also guide them in these spiritual issues. -
Farming
Farming is the biggest economic activity in Uganda. CHAIN Foundation carries out both crop and animal farming. Poultry, piggery, cattle keeping, bee keeping plus crop husbandry. Children are trained in all these areas so that they can learn better farming practices. In the garden, different crops have been grown such as yams, cassava, sugarcanes, sweet potatoes as well preparing the gardens for the coming planting season. -
Counseling Department
The counseling has got two counselors, one permanent and another one who comes twice in a week. Some children in the Home still have unresolved trauma from past life experiences and the counselors have helped to close this gap. Some staff members have utilized the service, thereby creating a better working environment by identifying possible solutions to individual problems.​​
